A Headshot Happy Hour at The Grand Hotel

We recently had the chance to do something that was a lot of fun during Kiddoms’ company retreat at The Grand Hotel. Their team brought us in to capture headshots for about 50 of their employees.

Here’s the setup: a cocktail party from 6:00 to 6:30, followed by dinner. This set up allowed us to roll in, set up our gear, and capture some fresh, clean headshots while everyone was relaxed, mingling, and maybe sipping on a cocktail or mocktail.

Each person got two looks:

  • One more formal—think classic professional headshot for websites, sales decks, and all those client-facing materials
  • And one more fun—something with a little personality, perfect for email signatures, team bios, or internal communications

Why Professional Headshots Matter

The goal wasn’t just “new LinkedIn photos.” These images will be used across their marketing and sales efforts from the website and pitch decks to social media- anywhere they want to make a strong human-first impression.

That’s the key: their brand isn’t buttoned-up and corporate. It’s down-to-earth and approachable. These headshots needed to reflect that. No stiff shoulders or forced smiles just real people looking like the best versions of themselves, which is why we aimed to make the experience stress free and comfortable for all employees.

A Smart Add-On to Any Retreat

Doing headshots at a company retreat just makes sense. Everyone’s already in one place, a little dressed up, and in a good mood. Additionally, this set up is efficient, cost-effective, and if we’re being honest, it’s way more fun and sensible than trying to get everyone into the studio one at a time!

Kiddom was a pleasure to work with and their headshots captured their positive, education driven and bright spirits quite well!
